WHERE HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR MEETS DEGENERATE GAMBLER
Since its debut in 1934, Santa Anita Park’s mile-long track has been pounded by some of the swiftest hooves in the world. The legendary Seabiscuit entered the history books at this Arcadia institution in 1940, and boxes glittered with Hollywood stars such as Lana Turner and Bing Crosby in its heyday. Today, Santa Anita continues to hold a place of glory in the history books, drawing jockeys, thoroughbreds and gamblers to its hallowed grounds. We set out on a sunny Saturday morning to visit this iconic racetrack, lured by the promise of a win and a glimpse into what equestrian dreams are made of.
