Creating an account with Garrett Leight

Creating an account with Garrett Leight can be helpful for various reasons. Not only can you save time at checkout the next time you shop with us, but it can also be helpful to track your order. By creating an account, you provide us with:

  • Login details;
  • Name;
  • Contact details and address.

 

The data you provide us with is necessary for the performance of a service (performance of a contract). We will keep hold of this data until you decide to close down your Garrett Leight account.

 

Handling your order
When you place an order, we will collect standard information needed to complete and ship your order (performance of a contract). This information is only used to send, process and track your order and will only be kept as part of your account for future orders. Shopify Payments is our payment provider. They will receive the information necessary to safely handle your payment.

In case the received product is not what you expected, or you wish to return it for another Garrett Leight product, you may request a return or exchange. We may process standard information needed to fulfill your request and will only retain the personal data processed for this purpose only.

Contact

When you send us an email or chat message, fill out the contact form, or contact us in any other way, we may process the personal data you provide us with as part of our services (performance of a contract). To be able to handle your request for contact we process the following personal data:

  • Name;
  • Email address; 
  • Any information you enter yourself as the content of a message.

 

We store this information until we are sure that you are satisfied with our response. This way we can easily access the information in case you have any following questions and train our customer service to improve even more.  

 

Newsletter
We provide a newsletter to inform those interested in our products. Your email address is either added to our list of subscribers with your consent (through opt-in), or in case you do not opt-out to receiving our newsletter after having bought a Garrett Leight product. We then process your personal data based on our legitimate interest to do so, which relates to being able to provide our customers with all our new products and the best promotions and sales.

 

Each newsletter contains a link which you can use to unsubscribe to our newsletter. We will retain your email address until you chose to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe to our newsletters by sending an email to service@garrettleight.com.

 

Contests and sweepstakes

We may offer promotions or organize contests and sweepstakes. In order to be able to contact you in case you have won we will process the contact details you have provided us with (performance of a contract). We will not process this data for any other purpose unless we have a valid ground for processing. We may also share your data with our affiliates and parent company, which may be situated in the United States of America. We do this for our internal administration. We are familiar with the judgment of the CJEU (16 July 2020) with implications for the transfer of personal data. We are currently investigating how best to deal with this. We will usually respond to your request within one month. This term can be extended if the request is proven to be complex or tied to a specific right. You will be notified about a possible extension of this term within one month.

 

Minors

 

Our website is not directed at children under 18. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal or contact information without their consent, he or she should contact us at service@garrettleight.com. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will delete such information from our files immediately.
