Sam Partaix has figured out the charmed life. Born in Paris in 1987 and raised in Tours with plenty of unsupervised hours to fil, he went took to four wheels, chasing "freedom with the homies." Achieved.
Along the way he picked up a camera to document his semi-feral lifestyle, and it grew into gallery-worthy photography of European skate culture, unglamorous, well-composed, phenomenal. Exactly what you'd expect from a man who's spent years capturing the gap between a good line and the ledge behind it.
“Many Skateboarders moved here because you have the culture of California, everyone skates, surfs all the outdoor sports.”
After stints in Lyon, Paris, and Berlin, Sam traded urban life for Biarritz, where he found surfing. And, his center of gravity. He's found what most road warriors never do: somewhere worth staying.
